So this is my last post before I head off tomorrow. I have an early flight—6:15 am yikes!
Like I mentioned before, I probably won’t be posting that many blogs on my own, so definitely follow our trip at cotnwritingteam.wordpress.com.

So I leave in 6 days!! Crazy it’s almost here. Thank you so much for all of your support. My team will be keeping a blog and will be posting on it pretty regularly during our 3 weeks. I probably won’t be posting that many blogs on my own tumblr (if I post any), so this is the best way to stay updated on our trip :)
I still have somewhere between $1,500 and $2,000 to go on fundraising. God has been so good in regards to support raising so far. And thanks so much for everything!
Anyways, I have decided to sell some shirts again. The design is awesome (thanks to the lovely Crystal Hutcheson). The shirts will be super soft again like last time (but a different brand). They will be light blue with a dark gray writing. I will be selling my shirts for $15. If you want one, let me know.
In addition to selling my own shirts, the wonderful Amy Scott has also given me her leftover shirts from when she sold them for her trip this summer. Also a cool design. Those are $10 and there’s a few smalls, mediums, and larges left.
Let me know what size you would like. I will be placing an order for my shirts next week, so it’s nice to have an idea how many I need to order before then.
You can pay with cash or check once the shirts come in—or you can pay in advance if you want to be baller.
If you are in Gainesville, I have 2 lovely shirt reps—Lindsey Marks and Kelly Wood. They will help with collecting money/distributing shirts once they come in.

my sister and chris schrum realized that i need help with fundraising for my trip (i have a little under $3,000 to go). they decided that it would be awesome that if they had enough money donated, i would go on a date with david hudson. so that’s the deal. lindsey and chris have a goal of $300. if they reach that goal, i will go on a date with david. they make me laugh.

A couple in Washington funded their whole wedding by collecting cans. I recently stumbled upon their story, which was what pushed me to include cans in my support raising efforts. My project has been featured on their website. Check it out!

COTN: Children of the Nation’s website
After spending two months in Malawi last summer, Africa has captured a piece of my heart and I have been longing to go back. This November, I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to Africa with Children of the Nations. The trip is October 30-November 20. I will be spending 2 weeks in Malawi and 1 week in Uganda. This trip, however, is a bit different from other trips I have been on. Besides the standard loving on kids that comes with COTN trips, the trip will focus on writing. This first-time COTN writing team will travel to Malawi and Uganda to interview COTN children, national staff, and teachers in order to write stories for the communications department to use throughout the year. The stories will help to communicate to partners, supporters, and the general public what God is doing through COTN in Malawi and Uganda. The team will also be giving writing workshops. I am excited to be able to use a passion for writing to help COTN further its mission to “raise children who transform nations” and to return to the continent that has captured my heart.
The estimated cost of the trip is $5,200. In the near future, I will be posting ways to partner with me.
